Who I am and why i do it

About Nick Partin – Founder & Principal

Quality isn’t just what we sell—it’s how we do business.

With over two decades of experience in engineering, sales, and furniture solutions, I’ve built my career on a simple principle: deliver exceptional quality and back it with exceptional service. That philosophy has guided every role I’ve held, every relationship I’ve built, and every solution I’ve provided to clients.

The Foundation
I’m a Columbus, Indiana native—born here in 1974, graduated from Columbus North High School in 1993, and earned my Industrial Technology degree from Purdue University in 1998. My roots run deep in this community, and so does my commitment to the businesses and institutions that make it thrive.

After college, I spent over a decade honing my technical and sales expertise across the country—from Greenville and Charleston, SC to Annapolis, MD and Lake Wylie, SC. I worked with industry leaders like Rockwell Automation, Screen Tight, Allegis Corp, and Austin Hardware, where I learned that great products mean nothing without great service to back them up.

Coming Home & Building Something Better
In 2014, I returned to Columbus and bought into the family business, Thompson Furniture, alongside my half-brother Spencer Thompson. For the next 11½ years, I became what I like to call the “Bubba Gump” of furniture—I did it all: sales, purchasing, repairs, delivery, billing, taxes, and everything in between.

But more importantly, I learned what truly matters to customers: reliability, responsiveness, and products that last. I built relationships with commercial furniture manufacturers who shared my commitment to quality—companies that don’t cut corners, that stand behind their products, and that deliver on time, every time.

A New Chapter: Partin Sales & Associates
In October 2025, I founded Partin Sales & Associates to bring that same quality-first approach to commercial furniture clients across Indiana. We specialize in serving:

Beyond Business
I’ve been married to my incredible wife Dana since August 1999, and we’re proud parents to two amazing daughters: EllaGray, a sophomore at Purdue University, and Sulli, a senior at Columbus North High School. Family has always been my priority, and that same commitment to relationships extends to every client I serve.

When I’m not helping clients find the perfect furniture solutions, you’ll likely find me at my XL Big Green Egg, perfecting everything from brisket and pork shoulder to cedar plank salmon, wings, pizza, and the perfect steak. I love experimenting with my own rub recipes—currently working on one called Dickster’s Dust. I also enjoy getting out on the golf course, though I’ll be the first to admit there’s plenty of room for improvement in my game.
